How to End the Crises

It is amazing to think that if only 7% of professing Christians adopted one child, there would be no orphan crises. So why aren't people adopting? Well i see a couple reasons. First most people don't realize God heart for orphans, so they do nothing. Secondly people are scared. they are afraid to do anything that might bring trial (which make us more like Christ by the way). Lastly they can't. Whether it is because of age or other restrictions, they just physical or legally can not do it. What catagory do you find yourself in?

"A Father to the Fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families." Psalm 68:5,6

  1. Hey Zac. Great post man. I too have a heart for the orphans of our world. It breaks my heart every time I see a young child desperate for someone to show Him/Her the love that my heavenly father who adopted me shows me daily. Though Rebekah and I are yet to be married, we have already agreed to one day adopt. I loom forward to following your blog man and catching up with you sometime this summer.

  2. Hey, I just discovered your blog because of the link on your fb page. It's almost ironic because my family is in the process of adopting and the waiting process is hard! But this is encouraging! I've always had a heart for adoption and knew that when I'm old enough and married, etc. that I want to adopt as many children as I possibly can, but recently God laid it on my parents hearts and we're pursuing a domestic adoption. All the paperwork and everything went really fast and now we're just waiting for a birth mom to choose us. I'm so excited and can hardly wait to hold my precious baby sister or brother! It's hard to wait, mainly because we have no idea how long we will be waiting. We're all excited in the exact same way we get when my mom is pregnant, only, we don't know when we'll see the baby. We're ready though. We've been preparing, buying diapers, a carseat, clothes, everything we need for an infant, and we're praying for the precious one (or ones) that the Lord has for us.
I also just read an e-mail newsletter from some missionary friends in Europe and they mentioned an orphanage near them in Kiev and it just really pulled at my heart. Where I am in life right now, I'm in the "can't" category, but I'm so excited for the day that God makes it possible for me to share His love with the precious children He has chosen for me. At this point, I don't know how that's going to play out, but I'm anxiously awaiting the day when God makes that clear.
Thanks so much for sharing! This was really encouraging. God bless you Zac!
